Before You Write

Two answers solve most reports on the spot:

• if every packet is lost, try the same host with the TCP method — plenty of networks and hosts filter echo requests while answering connections normally;
• if the delay looks implausibly small for a distant host, you are probably behind a proxy or VPN that completes the connection locally; the ICMP method will show the real path.

What to Include

• the name of the app and its version, from the bottom of the Settings screen;
• your device model and iOS version;
• the host you tested and the method you used;
• what you expected and what the screen showed — a screenshot of the test is ideal;
• whether the connection was Wi-Fi or cellular, and whether a VPN was active.

Response Time

We reply as soon as we reasonably can. Reports that depend on a particular network may take longer, because they have to be reproduced on a comparable connection.
